Information About Jane:


Personal Description:

I run a centre in Altrincham and Sale with my husband Mike, who is also a teacher.
We both qualified with BSc Hons and PGCE's.

We work from a centre, as demand for our services is high and we feel we have established an excellent reputation for high quality tutoring in a safe and stimulating environment.

Over 50 % of our pupils are referred to us by other parents whose children already attend our centre.



Teaching Experience:

I am a qualified and experienced secondary school teacher with 15 years experience in both state and private schools. I have taught for 12 years in a local Grammar school and am also a trained primary teacher.
My husband is also a qualified experienced secondary school teacher.



Tutoring Approach:

We offer tutoring in English, reading, spelling and mathematics.
We also help children to prepare for the 11 + and entrance exams.
Prepartion for KS1 KS2 and KS3 SATs.
Tuition for GCSE English and mathematics.
Special needs support.

Our approach is through personalised, individual programmes which we base on an initial assessment. This assessment is free and highlights areas where pupils may be having difficulties. We then work on any problem areas and also help build self confidence and independent study skills.

Our sessions run for 80 minutes and we use both written and computer activities to help our students. We also give homework which reinforces learning.
At the end of each session we will discuss how the student has progressed and areas which still need work.

We aim to create a positive atmosphere where learning is fun.
