Personal Description:
I am a professional musician with nearly ten years teaching experience based in Camden, North London. I have played at many of the country's top venues including Shepherds Bush Empire, Carling Academy Islington and Koko, as well as the o2 Wireless festival, Lovebox festival and many more throughout Europe.
Teaching Experience:
I studied for four years at Londons Guitar Institute after which i obtained a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music Performance. I began teaching, in an informal way, almost as soon as i'd mastered a few chords as it seemed natural to share my new found skills with others. Whilst still studying i began to teach on a more formal basis and honed my skills as an effective communicator. After i graduated i began teaching for Harrow, Camden and Ealing music services as well as continuing to teach privately.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching is to get you playing MUSIC rather than giving you lots of boring technical exercises. I have a carefully selected repetoire that will take you through the basics and i even supply examples and backing tracks on cd in addition to written material. Should you have a particular musical passion that you would like to explore (such as fingerpicking), i can help you on your way and often supply additional repetoire from my own extensive resources.
Having studied at degree level (Bmus PMP) i can also provide help with theory, sight reading and grades if you wish, although this is by no means a neccessity when making good music.
