Teaching Experience:
Deborah has taught a multitude of classes and taken many workshops over the years, including at primary and secondary schools, and also spent a year in Thailand teaching English and Spanish to children at a private secondary school and took private tuition for university students and adults, as well as the Thai Military.
Deborah has worked for Perform (similar to Stagecoach) and The Cat's Grin Theatre Company, and coaches and provides tuition to adults and kids alike. A whole host of specific, targeted tuition is available, be they preparing audition pieces, running through scripts for shows, dissecting Shakespeare to find meaning and understanding or simply development techniques for voice, movement, delivery, confidence and so on. She has also prepared Best Men for their wedding speeches as well as Business Managers for important presenting events and assisted in the development of their delivery and re-work presentations for maximum impact.
Deborah has also worked extensively in the corporate environment in the City (Canary Wharf, Cannon Street et al), in the main working as an HR Recruitment Manager for banking and finance industries (HSBC, Lloyds etc), and so utilises these experiences - client meetings, board-level presentations, business development/sales and interviewing, to assist the more commercial, business-minded student to achieve their goals - be it brushing up on their interview technique and how to sell oneself or making speeches at VIP business events.
Deborah is also a mum to a 3.5 year old boy, who conveys no shyness whatsoever!
Tutoring Approach:
Deborah is warm, approachable and at ease, and whilst maintains a professional outlook, has a strategy that is fun and enjoyable, working with the personality and character of each student. Deborah adapts to the needs and requirements of the pupil and often pin points and weeds out bad habits or hidden talents, gets the student to think about nuances and anomalies they may not have been aware of about themselves to bring out the best potential for the task at hand. She has a knack of finding other skills and abilities in her students that offers more light and marketability to their approach to drama, acting, presenting and so on.
Deborah also leads group classes should you seek a more workshop feel. Fees can be negotiated depending on size of group, age and objective.
