Rachael - Cambridge tutor
Information About Rachael:
Personal Description:
I am currently studying the International Baccalaureate at Impington sixth form. I enjoy teaching and working with children. I have experience with working with young people and have run and lead several youth club sessions. I have level 2 British Sign Language and am passionate about working with hearing impaired children. I am looking to be a teacher and hope this will give me a taster.
Teaching Experience:
As I am only 17 I have limited teaching opportunities, however my experience is wide for someone of my age. I have gained my youth work award and have lead several youth club sessions in Cottenham and have also got a sports leadership qualification. I regularly assist my mum with her riding school and often take out children on rides individually. I frequently help my younger cousins with homework and I also babysit. I have gained my Duke of Edinburgh award during which I volunteered at the local Rainbows. During my work experience I spent two weeks working with primary school hearing and deaf students.
Tutoring Approach:
I prefer working one to one with children so that they have my full attention to enable them to reap the benefits of the teaching sessions. I believe in a collaborative approach so that the children are able to discuss ideas rather than regard learning as a chore. I like to enable learning through fun to bring out their passion in learning and give them the best chance to exceed expectation.
