Personal Description:

I am a fully qualified teacher with 24 years of teaching experience. I currently work in special education.I enjoy spending time with family and friends, particularly my daughter who is at University. I enjoy the outdoors and walking. I am a keen reader and love learning. I am a fully qualified and BACP accredited counsellor and a qualified holistic therapist.

I really enjoy teaching and love to see students do well and achieve their potential. I am kind and patient and have had a lot of success motivating students who struggle. I have the ability to work well with a range of different students. I am honest and hard working and would do my best to help your child.



Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching for twenty four years in a range of educational settings, mainstream, college and special education. I have taught a variety of subjects, Literacy; Reading and Writing, Speaking and Listening skills, Humanities, PSHE and Citizenship, Food Technology, Child Care and Health and Social Care. I have taught for the past eight years in Special Education. I particularly love helping children who struggle, to acquire the basic skills. I have been trained in phonics.



Tutoring Approach:

Every child is an individual and each one learns in a slightly different way. I begin by spending valuable time getting to know your child and how they best learn. I start with the knowledge, skills and attitude they already possess and build on these. I try to make my teaching varied and fun and ensure that students experience success.
