Personal Description:

I offer private English and English Literature tuition for Key Stage 3, GCSE and AS/A Level students.
I have taught a range of ages and abilities and currently teach at a successful local comprehensive school three days a week.

Teaching Experience:

I have six years of teaching experience and have helped students to achieve excellent results in SATs, GCSEs and A Levels. Over the course of my career I have delivered a number of GCSE and A Level specifications and am familiar with the expectations of a range of exam boards. In addition to this I am an examiner with the responsibility of marking GCSE and A Level scripts - I know what the examiners are looking for!

I have always been able to develop excellent relationships with the students I have taught and am known for my patience and ability to deliver concepts clearly and enthusiastically.

Tutoring Approach:

I am able to offer a structured and personalised program whether you're looking to make progress in English or you need exam-specific support.

After an initial meeting to establish a student's strengths and areas for development, I plan appropriately challenging activities that will enable the targets identified to be met. I incorporate a range of teaching strategies and resources into my tutoring that are both interesting and closely matched to the goal we are working towards, whether that be a particular skill or an exam.
