Personal Description:

I am a final year Phd student in the School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham on a full scholarship from the International school. My research involves transporter expression and function in lungs. Prior to the start of my doctoral study, i pursued my MSc degree in Biotechnology from the University of Dundee and undertook a six month long project in FDA, USA. My bachelor degree was a dual honours of Zoology and Biotechnology in India from the reputed Fergusson College, University of Pune. Fun loving and yet dedicated to my work, I love living life as if there was no tomorrow.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored A levels and first year university level students in India in my subject areas. In UK, i started teaching in University of Nottingham since September 2009. I work with the Academic Support group in the university, as a mentor and tutor for the under privileged students. I undertake practical classes and demonstrations for Mpharma courses and also assist the module covenors in marking and assessing the students. Till date i have supervised three undergraduates for their final year projects, helping and guiding them not only with lab based work but also writing their thesis and presenting their work as posters and presentations.

Tutoring Approach:

When it comes to teaching i believe in a practical approach. Spoon-feeding doesn't help. A student needs constant challenge from their tutors to keep them focused and interested on the given topic.

Before the day of appointment i will send my tutee some reading materials which i will expect them to work upon, then go through their respective modules, have a glimpse on past exam papers and help them play to their strength.
