Emma - Salford tutor

Information About Emma:

Personal Description:

My name is Emma. I'm 24 years old and live in Salford.

I am a recent graduate with a BSc (Hons) in Criminology and Cultural Studies (2:1) from the University of Salford. I am hoping become a teacher in the lifelong learning sector. I have a passion for learning and love to share that passion with others. I enjoy music, reading, history and comparative criminal justice.

I would like to gain a career working in adult education and training, and am due to begin a teacher training course later this year.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience of teaching both within and outside of a structured academic environment. I have worked with children and adults who have barriers to learning, and I find this very rewarding.

I have extensive experience of one-to-one tutoring, and have a certificate in one-to-one mentoring with The Manchester College.

Tutoring Approach:

I complete an initial assessment of each student upon the first meeting in order to work out a teaching plan that is tailored to the needs and time restrictions of the student. This approach allows me to work with the strengths of the student to combat the weaknesses. I take a relaxed approach to tutoring as I feel that enjoyment of a subject is 50% of success in understanding.

I tutor for exam preparation, personal interest and for people who simply wish to improve their knowledge / skills. I am flexible with tutoring times and prefer to meet in local libraries.
