Personal Description:

I qualified as a teacher 5 years ago, but I have also worked in banking and sales and marketing before leaving to look after my two children who are currently 12 and 14. I have a wide range of interests including reading, travelling, gardening, horse riding and tennis and skiing.
I am able to tutor at home or travel to a client's house. I am available to tutor upto 20 miles from my location and can tutor at weekends if preferable.

Teaching Experience:

I have been qualified for 5 years and work in a Middle School, where my teaching has been officially graded as Good with Outstanding features. I have high expectations of all my pupils and my classes consistently achieve the highest possible levels in their SATS exams.
I was also chosen to tutor children by my employer and my results in this first year have been exceptional with those students who have previously struggled with either English or Maths. In June, parents wrote to me to say that their son, "had enjoyed his English tuition and we as parents are proud of what he has learnt and achieved...he seems to be a lot more confident in this subject."
As Assistant Leader of English I have been instrumental in reworking the schemes of work and this year our KS2 SAT results show an increase of 16% in boys achieving Level 4 in the writing - over 15 % above the national average.

Tutoring Approach:

I can expertly identify areas where a child needs to improve and to coach and support through the learning process until they are able to independently create work of which they are proud.
I am an Assistant Leader of English but have also specialised in Maths and provide a stimulating and warm environment for children to learn and fulfill their potential.
