My name is Tori, 33, and I am a teacher of History and English.

I have a Ba (Hons) degree in History and English Literature from the University of Liverpool. I have attained my PGCE qualification from the University of Newport and have a Postgraduate Certificate in Management Studies from the University of Glamorgan.

I also possess Level Three certificates in Numeracy and Literacy from Edexcel.

I will shortly be commencing an MPhil in Medieval History with the University of Bangor.

Teaching Experience:

I am now in my fourth year of teaching. I have taught 14-19 years A Level History and the Welsh Baccalaureate at Coleg Llandrillo Rhyl Sixth and have also taught GSCE History to mature learners at Abergele Community College.

I have experience of teaching History with the WJEC and OCR exam boards at A level and GCSE, and of English Literature and Language with WJEC at GCSE level. I am also familiar with AQA, having also taught A level Archaeology.

For OCR history I have taught modules which include the Crusades, Winston Churchill, the Tudors and World War II. For WJEC I teach Renaissance and Reformation Europe, Tudor England and Wales and 1930s Britain. I have also taught the American West and the History of Medicine for OCR GCSE history.

For WJEC English I have taught a range of texts including Miller's View From the Bridge, Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, Priestley's An Inspector Calls, Golding's Lord of the Flies, a selection of Shakespeare and poetry - pre and post 20th century.

I have experience of assessing and grading coursework at both GCSE and A Level (History and English Lit/Lang).

First and foremost, I aim to fully understand exactly what my students wish to learn and achieve. To achieve their goals I work collaboratively with my students by utilising their learning preferences in our sessions (something they do not always benefit from in a large classroom environment). I treat all my students fairly and equally and provide sessions which are inclusive, varied and inspire curiousity and a desire to learn. My sessions are never dull!

I am happy to visit students at their home or have them come to my home.
