Graeme - Glasgow tutor

Information About Graeme:

Personal Description:

I am currently in my final year of a doctorate in Film and Television at Glasgow University. Although my key interest is Film and Television studies and Film History, I am also read in Philosophy, able to teach continental and analytic traditions due to previous honours level study in the subject.

I have an enthusiastic work ethic and many non-academic interests including running, cinema-going and reading. I also have a strong passion for music production.

I'm a relaxed and confident tutor who is able to teach many levels of competence.

Teaching Experience:

I have experienced tutoring level 2 undergraduates in the glasgow department for 4 years, as well as having spoken at conferences and symposia. I also recently completed a course that accredited me as an Associate of the Higher Education Academy.

The University's Disability Support scheme has also provided me with an excellent opportunity to teach students on a one to one basis and rise to the challenge of teaching students in difficult circumstances.

I have, additionally, been the course coordinator for the Glasgow University Film and Television Studies Summer School, designing and
teaching a 6 week course for S5 and S6 the last three years.

Tutoring Approach:

I don't think a singular approach works as each student has his own individual needs, however I do feel that ,in general, detailed reading, analysis and critical thinking form the basis for nearly all successful meetings.
