Information About Monica:

Personal Description:

I have been tutoring & mentoring young people and teenagers for over 15 years, in Saturday schools, as well as offering private tuition, albeit that my preference is the latter, as the results are greater and visible on a 1:1 level.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer tuition in the privacy and comfort of all students' homes, as they tend to perform better in familiar surroundings. Also, with the parents at hand, to see how I conduct the lessons, it creates a better understanding and rapport.

I provide all the teaching and learning materials for the lessons. Although I will still work with study materials provided by the parents or students, as they so wish. The student supplies all their writing materials, calculator, geometry set, pen, paper, etc.

I follow the school curriculum, but also liaise with both parents and the students re which areas in their studies require further development, alongside establishing what topics the students have covered in their respective subject areas, and how well they understood them.

I always have interaction in the lessons, to place the emphasis on the student re their involvement. I aim to create light-hearted moments too within the lessons, as I am conscious that a student has given up their weekend or a school evening for additional lessons. The lessons are informal, on first name terms.
