Tabitha - Pembroke Dock tutor

Information About Tabitha:

Personal Description:

I am currently going into my final year of an English degree at the University of Southampton. I am an upbeat, friendly person and love working with young people. In my spare time I enjoy sailing, rowing, live music and seeing friends.

Teaching Experience:

I often help my younger siblings with their schoolwork (one is 13 years old and the other is currently doing her GCSEs), so I am very familiar with the curriculum and current teaching methods.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe tutoring methods should be moulded to suit the pupil themselves, as everyone learns in different ways and at different speeds. I aim to be both patient and encouraging as a tutor; I recognise that while some pupils enjoy (and benefit from) being pushed with regards to their learning, others need gentle encouragement in order to progress.

Being a friendly, approachable person is so important when it comes to one-on-one tutoring, and pupils need to feel comfortable with their tutor in order to freely question and learn. I am a sociable individual, and enjoy interacting with young people of all ages; this would definitely be mirrored in my teaching methods.
