Neha - Wigan tutor
Information About Neha:
Personal Description:
I am currently a medical student, having completed my second year at Imperial College London. I have always been determined and hard working which has been reflected in my academic and wide variety of extracurricular interests. At GCSE, I achieved 9A* and at A level, I achieved 4 As in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Modern History.
After my A levels I took a gap year, where I went to India for 2 months and volunteered in a blind school, teaching children English and learning how to read and write braille. I also volunteered at an autistic childrens group here in the UK and helped weekly at my local brownies and girl guides groups. I then worked as a nursery assistant at various nurseries across the north west.
Teaching Experience:
Although I have no formal teaching experience, I have volunteered in India teaching children of all ages and backgrounds English. I am passionate about teaching and would love the opportunity to be able to help students with their studies.
Tutoring Approach:
One of the attributes of a tutor I consider to be most important is the ability to be patient, a good listener and to be able to decipher what the student needs. This is something that I feel I am very good at and during my time at university when examining and taking histories from patients I feel I have been able to improve and build on these skills.
It is important to recognise each student as an individual and cater to their individual needs, looking at the ways in which they learn best, be it visual, audio etc. Having gone through numerous examinations myself and talking to fellow students, I have realised the importance of not only learning material but also learning how to study. I feel that through my own experiences coupled with knowledge of the specified areas, I will be able to help my students achieve their goals and help them in being able to improve the way in which they study and learn themselves.
My aim is to make the sessions not only worthwhile in terms of academia, but also to make in enjoyable and interesting. I am a very approachable person and would be happy to take direction from students towards areas they require the most help on.
