Information About Amanda:
Personal Description:
Amanda graduated with a BA hons in History from the University of Cambridge in 2010. Since then she has qualified as a secondary history teacher through the Teach First sheme and now has a PGCE as well as QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
From September 2013 Amanda is undertaking an MSc in Social Policy (Research) at London School of Economics which will focus on developing social research skills in order to develop education policy.
When not teaching or tutoring, Amanda enjoys reading post-colonial fiction, exploring London and cooking.
Teaching Experience:
Amanda has over five years of experience in the field of education both teaching in the class room and through tuition. She has taught for two years at an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' school in East London. There she taught pupils between the ages of 11-16 and covered British and world history from 1066 onwards, including to GCSE level. She also has experience tutoring A Level pupils for history course work and towards exams. Amanda has succeeded in teaching pupils with a range of learning needs, from gifted and talented pupils to those with special learning needs and those who speak English as an additional language.
