Gerald - Edinburgh tutor
Information About Gerald:
Personal Description:
I am a headteacher of a primary school with over thirty five years' experience of teaching. I also have a secondary teaching qualification. In that time I have had experience of teaching children of all ages in group and class situation as well as on an individual basis. I studied French at university and at a summer school in France. More recently I have attended night classes at Edinburgh University at an advanced level to keep my French up to date. I would be happy to offer tuition in primary subjects as well as French at a beginner and intermediate level.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught in a total of six schools in a variety of settings, with experience of pupils from 5 to 18 years. In this time I have got to know pupils of different social backgrounds with a variety of needs. I enjoy teaching and the rapport I have with students.
Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy getting to know students. My approach is one of patience, praise and the promotion of enjoyment of the learning experience. I gear my approach very much to the needs of the learner and adjust the pace accordingly. It is important that each student has ownership of the learning process with clear identification of targets, next steps and success criteria.
