Information About Jennifer:

Personal Description:

I have a PGCE in Primary education and also hold a Masters degree in History from the University of Edinburgh, which is one of the top universities in the world. I am a qualified primary teacher with experience of teaching in SAT's years 2 and 6. However, I currently teach Year 1 at an OFSTED rated outstanding school. My experience of teaching across the primary spectrum helps to inform my understanding of one to one tuition.

Teaching Experience:

Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in the financial world for a large UK bank and as such have a strong understanding of mathematics.I have worked with children in after school clubs and doing voluntary work long before I became a teacher. My previous background was working in the financial world after I graduated from University. I have experience of teaching across the primary spectrum using group and intervention methods as well as whole class. Similarly, I have experience of teaching children with SEN and behavioural issues this has fostered a calm yet assertive approach to teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

As I have taught many different age groups, I have experience spanning the entire primary spectrum. Similarly, I have experience of working with KS3 pupils through tuition. I am comitted to helping any tutees improve their skills in the desired subject area. I hope to inspire tutees to become life-long learners and to begin to enjoy their studies.The underlying principle guiding my teaching approach is that every child should be able to enjoy and achieve with their education and I emply a range of practical and written methods to aid this.
