Personal Description:
I am 33 years old and currently nearing the end of my studies for a PhD in French literature, at King's College in London.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught English for three years in France, including in the capacity of private tuition, mainly for English as a foreign language as well as at university. I taught professional adults in both group and individual sessions. At the University of Val de Marne (Paris 12) I taught English to first and second year undergraduates in the Sciences faculty.
Tutoring Approach:
I first ask students to outline what they consider their strengths and weaknesses to be and then to focus on building a consistent set of skills. I organise sessions by establishing a timetable and plan of study, which is not pressured and which allows for flexibility. I aim to provide a relaxed yet studious atmosphere. I try to teach in a way that is as much about building confidence as it is about achieving excellence.
