Personal Description:
I am a calm and well organised person who enjoys family life, outdoor activities, and socialising with friends.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching for 30 years in a wide range of schools. I am currently teaching GCSE and A level chemistry at a local high achieving comprehensive school, I have been in my present position for 15 years. Within the school I am committed to raising achievement focusing particularly on A level working with small groups and individuals helping them to realise their potential. I also work for Leicester University tutoring trainee teachers specialising in chemistry.
Tutoring Approach:
I have been tutoring in my home now for over 12 years. I generally work with students who are finding certain aspects of chemistry difficult - I am able to consolidate the work they cover in school/college in a one to one situation, this generally boosts their confidence in their own ability enabling them to achieve their potential. Other students approach me when they need to boost their performance in order to achieve the grades needed to follow a particular career, in this case the approach is analysing their exam technique working on past paper questions to ensure they achieve all the marks they are capable of. A recent student achieved 92/100 on a AS resit exam.
