Information About Peter:


Personal Description:

I'm currently studying towards a PGCE in secondary science at King's College London. I hold a First Class Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Birmingham. My Bachelors of Osteopathy Degree from the British School of Osteopathy has given me a extensive knowledge of medicine and biology. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for science with young people and particularly enjoy teaching physics.



Teaching Experience:

I have been a tutoring young people with a wide range of abilities for 4 years. I have taught pupils at science KS3 and am most familiar with the Edexel, OCR and AQA syllabuses at GCSE/A Level. I have experience of classroom teaching both as a teaching assistant and within my PGCE studies.



Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my teaching style to the individual needs of my pupils and impart a good understanding of fundamental principals to enable students to tackle unfamiliar problems. I help my pupils develop good exam technique and give extensive coaching on answering past paper questions. I encourage students to improve their study skills, for example using mind maps and mnemonics to improve memory and recall. I am patient, methodical and adaptable and really enjoy seeing my pupils getting good results.
