Information About Chris:

Personal Description:

Chairman of a training company, and part-time lecturer at a local University, I have published two workbooks and three CD-Roms on Accountancy.

A graduate of Glamorgan University and a Post-Graduate of The University of Manchester, my main specialism is Accounting and Finance.

A former head of a Business School in the North-West, I am an examiner at GCSE 'O' level, 'Principles of Accounts', 'AS' and 'A' level Accounting.

I am an examination setter, marker and reviewer in Accounting and Book-keeping & Accounts for an international awarding body and assistant chief examiner at level 3 Accounting for another international awarding body, for which I also examine at level 2 & 4.

I am also a consultant in Accounting & Finance for two international awarding bodies and have written and developed new syllabi on their behalf.

I have published two workbooks on book-keeping & accounting which are matched to the syllabi of two examinable subjects.

Teaching Experience:

My part-time work includes teaching at a local University and a local further education college in Accounting and Finance.

I have 26 years teaching experience in Accounting and Finance and my last three observations of teaching grades have been graded one - 'outstanding'.

My teaching experience has been gained on Degree courses in Business and Accounting, AAT levels 2, 3 and 4, 'A' level Accounting, HNC/HND Business Finance, CMS/DMS Business Finance, City & Guilds Book-keeping & Accounts levels 1 - 3, BTEC National Business Finance related subjects and Foundation Degrees in Business and Finance.

Tutoring Approach:

There is no reason why anybody cannot understand accounting and finance; it often comes down to poor teaching, lack of time in the classroom or large class sizes.

I can engage a range of different styles appropriate to the needs of the individual student. Through meeting the needs of the individual student attainment of the highest possible marks in examinations or coursework will be achievable.

Friendly and approachable, I have the necessary experience and skills of successfully supporting students with a diverse range of abilities.
