Information About Giorgio:
Personal Description:
I find teaching enjoyable and challenging.
Finding the best approach to motivate each student; as well as the best way to adapt to each individual's learning style, specific needs and mindset to get the best out of them is fascinating.
There is a great sense of satisfaction when a student develops their knowledge and understanding of the subject being taught.
In terms of my educational background:
MSc (1st Class Distinction) in Technology Entrepreneurship from University College London
BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham
11 A*s at GCSE
2 As (Chemistry, French) and 1 B (Physics) at A-Level
Part - qualified Auditor and Accountant (ACA) having passed my Audit and Audit and Assurance exams
I have worked as an RFP Analyst at Credit Suisse, as an Accountant and Auditor and as a Cost Analyst.
Teaching Experience:
I have been giving private Mathematics lessons in London since September 2007.
I have taught students at different levels:
Primary school
Year 7-9
GCSE
A-Level
I have also been giving private English Language lessons to students whose first language is not English. Many of these lessons have been online via Skype.
Moreover, I have given essay writing lessons and proof-reading services to university students whose first language is not English.
Tutoring Approach:
Since I have studied Mathematics in a number of different contexts - academic: pure, statistics and engineering; and, professional: accounting and finance - I can approach the subject in a number of ways to best adapt to each student's individual needs.
I also adapt my teaching style to different age groups and levels and often use innovative ways to help students tackle areas that they find particularly difficult.
With regards to teaching English to students whose first language is not English, I not only aim to develop their proficiency in reading & comprehension, writing, listening and speaking but I also try to expand their knowledge of English idioms, culture and history.
I always give a FREE 30 minute session before the first lesson to determine each student's level and requirements.
