Personal Description:

I would describe myself as a well educated young man, who has hands on experience teaching. I am hardworking, creative, trustworthy, intelligent and always prepared to put in the extra hours and effort required to ensure that my duties are carried out professionally and successfully. Socially, I have a calm disposition and relates well with people. I have been described by present and past colleagues as a good role model and an excellent reflective practitioner who possess excellent subject knowledge.
My employment history prior to joining the teaching profession in September 2007 consists of working as a teaching assistant, credit card counsellor, customer service advisor and accounting assistant. These roles require, good communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills, able to cope well under pressure, multi-tasking, good leadership skills, meeting tight deadlines, being confident and being able to work on your own initiatives. In my personal opinion, having succeeded in performing these duties remarkably, implies that I have gained more of the above mentioned qualities.

Teaching Experience:

As a classroom teacher for 3 years, I plan, prepare and teach the following subjects; Business Studies (OCR), GCSE Applied Business Studies (AQA), GCE APPLIED Business (AQA), GCE Economics (AQA) and BTEC (Edexcel) to key stage 4 and 5 boys. Experience gained includes; managing pupils behaviour in classroom, on school premises and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour; mark work, give appropriate feedback, maintain records of pupils' progress and development; faculty meetings, departmental meetings, staff meetings, parents evening and whole school training events. Furthermore, I provide support to new and exisiting members of staff within the Business Studies department. I have also gained valuable experience with respect to setting goals and task to meet the needs of different learners in the various lessons I have taught.

Tutoring Approach:

Setting targets for pupils and developing strategies to meet them. Explaining assessement requirement and working through past papers.
