Personal Description:
I am 32 years old, married with two young children, living in Bedford. I am looking for part time work which will enable me to use my teaching skills and experience.
I am friendly, approachable, organised and reliable.
I studied Journalism at Leeds University followed by a PGCE in Education at London Metropolitan University. I am also currently studying Psychology with a view to working in Educational Psychology in the future.
Teaching Experience:
I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with approximately 5 years experience of working in both KS1 and 2 classes.
I also have experience of working in private and state schools.
I was privately educated myself so I know the system well, including the entrance examination process and standards.
Tutoring Approach:
I think tutoring is very useful for boosting children's confidence in subjects they may struggle with. It is also good for subjects they thrive in to keep them interested and challenge them further.
Tutoring is also good for children at the entrance examination stage to help them improve on any weaknesses. I do however, feel that tutoring should not take place or interfere with the child's formal education.
