Personal Description:

I am the Head of Psychology at an inner London State School, experienced in teaching Psychology at GCSE and A level and teaching Religious Education up until to GCSE. I am calm and approachable and experienced in teaching these subjects content as well and revision skills to aid memory making learning more enjoyable. Having worked as an examiner I am very familiar with marking criteria which I feel is essential skill with higher level exams.

I am dynamic in my teaching styles having the skills and knowledge that only comes from being experienced in the field of education. I have a range of teaching resources and materials to aid learning and understanding.

Teaching Experience:

I have 4 years teaching experience and currently the head of Psychology at an outstanding inner London state school.

In my current role I teach AS and A2 Psychology to student with varying abilities, I am experienced at teaching students where English is a second language to them as well as offering an extra push to the gifted and talented students to ensure that they reach their full potential.

Prior to this I am experienced at teaching Religious Education to GCSE level and Psychology as GCSE and A level. I am most familiar with the AQA specification however experienced with EdExcel and OCR. However although the specifications vary slightly they test the same knowledge and skills.

I have the appropriate resources and worksheets to accompany any lesson that I deliver.

Tutoring Approach:

I would tailor my tutoring to each child's individual needs, establish their preferred learning style and adapt my approach to meet their requirements. I think that it is important to incorporate exam practice into the lessons so that I can analyse the way a student answers questions so that they are made aware of how to achieve the top grades. I also suggest revision strategies and essay plans to assist learning.

I am structured and methodological in my approach to tutoring, believing that well planned and engaging material will help students achieve.

• 2:1 BA in Psychology at the University of Sussex
