Oliver - Leeds tutor

Information About Oliver:

Personal Description:

I am a 23 year old professional musician teaching in the Leeds area. I perform jazz, modern classical and improvised music, pop and rock regularly throughout the UK. Having studied at Leeds College of music on the BA Jazz course I have had the opportunity to play and study with players including Matthew Bourne, Christophe De Bezenac, Jean Toussaint, Jesse Bannister and Joel Purnell.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught students from a wide range of musical backgrounds with abilities ranging from beginners to professional. Because of this I am able to tailor lessons to the specific needs of the students.
I have a thorough understanding of many musical languages so I am able to teach Key stage three, GCSE and A-Level music as well as western classical music theory.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons can involve working through ABRSM or Guildhall grades, playing music of the students choice, understanding rhythm, theory and harmony - both jazz and classical, composition and extended saxophone techniques.
I believe it is important to teach students the music they want to learn, so each lesson is specifically designed for the students needs.
