Personal Description:

Hello

My name is Claire; I am an actress, acting coach and drama workshops leader.

I trained professionally for three years at the Oxford School of Drama. My training was a diverse exploration of acting techniques which included Hagen, Stanislavsky, Laban and performing Shakespeare. I have studied Meisner at the Jeremiah Comey School of Film Acting, Los Angeles.

I have been acting professionally for over five years, and have worked in film (Lions Gate), theatre (Riverside Studios, Soho Theatre) and television (BBC). I have played a variety of roles across several genres. For theatre I have played leads for the Irish Repertory Company at the Riverside Studios. I was nominated for a 'Stage' award for my performance in 'Bitches & Money' (Edinburgh). My film credits include playing the lead role in 'Door Out of The Dark'(Cannes) and the female lead in 'Lingo' (Filmaka Jury level competition). I will be playing the female lead in 'Naked Before The World', a Neil Corbould film.

Teaching Experience:

I have experience in teaching one to one acting tuition (from ages 17-50 years-old). I have directed audition speeches for drama school applications and also work-shopped monologues with mature students simply for fun and personal development.

I devise and teach drama classes for a children's drama group, (ages 7-13 years-old); and for the same group have written a directed a Christmas play.

I also offer advice on choosing material which is especially useful to drama school applicants / beginner actors who may not know where to find suitable material; which best showcases their personality.

I offer competitive rates, with a concession for block bookings.

Tutoring Approach:

My three year training at the Oxford School of Drama left me with a wide variety of approaches and tools including the following techniques; Alexander, Animal Studies, Hagan, Laban, Meisner, Movement (many dance forms) and Stanislavsky.


My approach to naturalistic pieces is very Uta Hagan, Stanislavsky & Meisner based. My approach to Shakespeare is very Peter Hall like.

I am personally lit up by such a variety of playwrights Shakespeare, Chekhov, Ibsen, Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller to name a few; plus new writers such as Joe Penhall.

I plan for each individual student and will happily suggest appropriate material for each actors casting, or what I feel that actor will benefit from working on.
