Personal Description:

Senior Examiner with 10 years experience for both Economics and Business Studies. Helping students achieve outstanding grades by assessing how you learn.

Getting the grades is not the hard part. It's understanding what the examiners are looking for in your answers that is. I'm an examiner with over 10 years experience in marking the A Level exam papers.

Achieving academic success in your exams takes more than just "reading" your notes and hoping that it sinks in. The majority of students that I work with often come to me because they struggle with the "exam technique" or just don't know how to learn vast amounts of information in a relatively short period of time. Often this is because the essay technique or exam technique is not focused on at school. My expertise lies within assessing the way you learn and then tailor make our sessions in order for you to learn efficiently.

I am an experienced examiner and teacher of A-Level and IB Economics and also Business. When I work alongside students I focus specifically on the following areas:

Ensuring that you understand the difference between analysis, evaluation and application will ensure that you're prepared for the exams. I'm a senior examiner for one of the main exam boards so I'm able to provide the support and preparation that you will need.

I am currently tutoring Business Studies & Economics to A Level & Degree. I have over 10 years experience as an examiner so I'll tailor our sessions to your exams and specific exam technique skills required.

First of all, understanding how you learn is crucial. Alongside this learning profile, I'll help you identify the specific areas that you need a little bit more focus on. It might be that your exam technique needs polishing up, and in my experience the skills of evaluation/analysis often do. With the grade boundaries being so close, making sure that you fully understand what the examiners are looking for will help get the grades that you aspire to.
