Carole - Ipswich tutor

Information About Carole:

Personal Description:

I am a mature adult with a clear understanding of the needs of students who have at some point been 'left behind'. I gained my degree later than most and have a positive approach to education for all. I am creative in finding ways of reaching my students and I find it difficult to restrain my enthusiasm for my subjects.

Teaching Experience:

I have a great deal of experience of working with students who have fallen behind for many reasons to bring them up to GCSE in English. This includes working on coursework, presentation and expanding their knowledge in interpreting poetry. I currently work on a daily basis with students at all levels. I have also a great deal of experience in working with students with a variety of learning needs and I understand many strategies for personalising resources to aid their understanding and development.

I am a qualified Youth Worker so my work experience is varied between formal and social education.

I am currently studying for a Masters in Teaching and Learning.

During my degree years I was also an online mentor with AimHigher.

I am a qualified teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

I would be happy to visit the student's home to teach and I believe that they are likely to be more relaxed and receptive in their home environment.
