Personal Description:
I am a very motivated individual who can see the potential and possibilities in all pupils I teach and have taught. Throughout the years, I have had to prove myself time and time again, and know what it is to work hard in order to achieve the desired results. I'm a firm believer in the 'work hard, play hard' philosophy. I absolutely love teaching and feel that there is nothing more rewarding than when a child you have been working with and ploughing away at finally gets it, and you can see it on their face - a sense of pride, worth and achievement. It's great!
Teaching Experience:
In 2005, I completed my Primary PGCE. I did supply teaching for a year in various schools, some very challenging, before accepting a job at Flying Bull Primary School, Portsmouth in 2006. I currently teach Year 3/4 and am now in my 4th year of teaching and I am as passionate as when I first started, always looking to better my practice, approach and effectiveness.
Tutoring Approach:
In one to one tutoring, I do the following:
1. Talk to the individual and see what they would like help in and how they learn best.
2. Initial assessment to find out strengths and areas of development and what level they are at.
3. Draw out a plan/set objectives and show how we (as a team) can achieve them.
4. Then we are ready to go...!
(Regular feedback is given and tracking done to show the level of progress being made.)
