Information About Meryl:
Personal Description:
I am a 24 year old female language graduate, with a passion for my subject and getting others involved in it too! I am highly enthusiastic, organised and hard-working, and have experience of teaching both formally and informally. I just love the rewards of seeing people succeed, so do everything I can to make that happen.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught English as a foreign language at a University in Italy, and at an Adult evening class in Italy.
I have taught Italian and French on placement at Secondary and Primary Schools in the UK.
I have taught Bible Studies classes to teenagers aged 14-18.
I have taught a Nursery class for children aged 18months - 4 yrs on a voluntary basis.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe the key to being a successful tutor is to initially establish the needs of the tutee; namely the end result they want from the course, and how they learn best. I am very flexible in my teaching and believe in tailoring a course to suit individual needs; whether it be in making learning more fun, or stretching the mind on a more traditional basis. Either way, when teaching languages, I believe that attributing learning to reality is essential.
