Caroline - Stratford-upon-Avon tutor

Information About Caroline:

Personal Description:

I am a recent graduate in German and Spanish from Cambridge University.
During the course of my studies I spent a year working and studying in Regensburg, Germany. I also had opportunities to visit Spain and South America where I carried out voluntary work in Buenos Aires. In my spare time I like to cycle, row and play rugby. I am also a fan of foreign literature and enjoy reading.

Teaching Experience:

I helped plan and coordinate English lessons for children living in the slums of Buenos Aires and in Guatemala. I also spent 2 weeks work experience at a Montessori school in Munich, Germany.
My father has recently taken an AS-level in German and I have enjoyed tutoring him on the basics of German grammar.
Having recently graduated from Cambridge I am up to date with current teaching styles, especially to help gain oral proficiency.

Tutoring Approach:

Initially I would ask the student to demonstrate some work and explain what areas they want to work on. During lessons I would correct work and explain any problems. I may also set additional reading, exercises or essays if required. For language work I can explain grammar and offer oral sessions on various topics to help improve fluency, confidence and range of vocabulary.
