Information About Sarah:
Personal Description:
Hi there!
About me....
I am fun and creative, reliable and hard working, enthusiastic and empathetic, organised and competent, patient and caring, understanding and down-to-earth!
I have just qualified as a specialist dyslexia teacher and I am looking to put my knowledge and experience into practice whilst helping children who find reading difficult.
Currently, I am working as a Year 6 class teacher in a Calderdale school. I have been working at this school for four years now. Previously, I was working as a teacher in an international school in Indonesia for a year. Before that I travelled South East Asia helping deprived children for six months. I worked in Liverpool for the first three years of my teaching career and also trained in Liverpool. I qualified as a teacher from Edge Hill University and carried out a degree in psychology before this. I have taken up the role as Special Educational Needs Coordinator at school and I am part of the senior management team.
I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher and I have private tutored many times before. I am looking forward to really making a difference and helping children really achieve what they are capable of.
I am now taking bookings for summer holiday tutoring. I am quite flexible in my hours. I can do one hour a week, one day a week or an hour a day for as long as you want. One week, two week or a more specific programme to suit you and your child's needs is available. Booster classes can be very successful in allowing your child to catch up over the holidays ready for the next school year.
Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified dyslexia teacher as well as a qulified primary scool teacher. I have privately tutored for four years with many different children of the ages from 4 to 11 years old.
I am a qualified Primary School Teacher. After achieving my Bsc Psychology degree which had a lot of focus on childhood development and educational studies I successfully graduated as a primary school teacher. I went on to work in Liverpool and then overseas. I am now working as a class teacher and private tutor in Brighouse.
Whilst studying I have worked as a Play Group Leader in after school and holiday club so as you can see I really enjoy working with children and seeing them happy and learning.
Tutoring Approach:
I want to keep tutoring, because I just want to keep making a difference.
Does your cild have dyslexia or do you tink they may have?
Is your child struggling with reading and/or writing?
Does your child need extra support in maths?
Is your child lacking confidence at school?
Maybe your child just needs a little help in certain curriculum areas, or help with homework?
Whatever it may be, I may be able to help and make that difference.
The tutoring I offer is one to one, fun and enjoyable to ensure your child is learning and enjoying doing so. I can offer help in Maths, English, Phonics (spelling, reading and writing), Science, English as a second language and many more.
I can meet with parent and child and arrange a way in we can reach the goals needed to improve your child's education and then get going with the tutoring to really improve their work and ability.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sarah.
