Personal Description:

I have an Engineering Honours degree in Metallurgy from Leeds university and PGCE secondary from Nottingham.

Teaching Experience:

I have had 20 years of successfully teaching GCSE Science, Physics and Chemistry and A level Physics in Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire. I have had students go on and achieve well at all levels including natural sciences at Cambridge. Currently I am teaching in Northampton as Second in Science and co-ordinating Key Stage 3 and I have previous experience as KS4 and 5 co-ordinator.

Tutoring Approach:

The first thing that is needed is to work out what are the strengths of understanding, what gaps there are in knowledge and understanding and fill them, while ensuring that the specification is fully covered, relating the concepts to everyday experience wherever possible.

Qualifications:

• Engineering Honours degree in Metallurgy
• PGCE secondary from Nottingham.
