Personal Description:

I grew up in Adelaide, Australia and studied Maths, Science and Japanese at the University of Adelaide. I then studied Science Communication (Australian National University) and became a fully qualified maths and science teacher (University of Canberra). I received an award for the most Outstanding Student in Secondary Education on completion of my Teaching qualifications. I moved to England in January 2005, initially to teach, and now I am working for the University of Cambridge at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

My passion is teaching and sharing the enjoyment and understanding of mathematics with students. I also enjoy travelling, painting, and triathlons.

Teaching Experience:

I am a fully qualified Mathematics and Science teacher and have 11 years experience (6yrs private tuition throughout University in Australia, 2yrs secondary Mathematics teaching in England, 3yrs Mathematical Outreach for Cambridge University, UK). I have a valid CRB certificate.

I taught for 2 years in England, Kent, then in January 2007, I began working for the Millennium Mathematics Project at the University of Cambridge. I am the Schools Outreach Officer and travel all over the UK and abroad bringing Mathematics to life through interactive presentations and workshops. During this time, I have worked with literally thousands of student of all ages and abilities, visited hundreds of schools and provided professional development sessions for Mathematics teachers. It aims to demonstrate the more practical applications of mathematics in situations involving risk, probability, statistics and uncertainty ().

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor my approach to best suit the student I'm teaching, as everyone learns differently. My main aim in my approach is to make Mathematics enjoyable and for the student to gain greater understanding, confidence and appreciation of the subject.
