Personal Description:

I'm 37 and live with my four-year-old daughter. I enjoy getting out into the fresh air, particularly up a hill or on a beach! I enjoy reading, films, writing and playing with my daughter. I also swim and do belly-dancing, yoga, hill walking and trail running.

Teaching Experience:

I have six years' experience teaching at a local secondary school: French and Spanish to KS3 and KS4, as well as successfully introducing A level Sociology.

I previously worked in Thailand, France and Spain as a teacher of English as a foreign language, and in Cirencester as a teaching assistant (before studying for my PGCE). I have tutored French and EFL in London.

Two years ago I made the move into primary language teaching and I now work in schools to deliver languages to Key Stage 2 children, as well as running extra-curricular classes both within schools and in people's homes for children in this age range and below. I still enjoy teaching more advanced languages though and also deliver lessons at a higher level, where no singing or dancing is required (though is always an option!).

I am happy to tutor individuals or groups, whatever works best for you.

I am also an examiner for A level Sociology, and have a 2.1 degree in Politics with a first-class dissertation.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a friendly and laidback style but with the firmness of a classroom teacher! I'll see what approach best suits the tutee and tailor my teaching to their preferences. You have the confidence of knowing that I am fully qualified and have many years' experience in different settings, but teaching across the age and ability range.

• BA Joint Honours French and Politics (Leicester, 2001)
