Information About Sam:

Personal Description:

I am 27 years old. I studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford, where I finished with a first, and I also studied for an MA at York in Post-war Recovery studies.

My main areas of interest are in philosophy, religious studies and economics. I find the philosophy of religion and ethics particularly interesting. I also have a strong interest in international development and peacebuilding.

Outside of studying, I am a keen sportsman and especially enjoy rugby, tennis and football. I love listening to music, I write poetry and I continue to enjoy reading.

Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a personal tutor.

While at sixth form, I was a volunteer mentor on a mentoring program for young people. For those hoping to apply to Oxbridge, I am able to provide some personal feedback and advice about the application process, gleaned from my own experiences.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring focuses on developing discussions rather than providing lectures on topics. I think the key to succeeding in any area of study is developing a passion for the topic in hand, and this is what I will hope to help discover and develop in tutees.
