Personal Description:
I am a first year student at Newcastle University currently studying Business Accounting and Finance. Originally from the UK, I have spent the past two years living in Shanghai, China where I picked up conversatinal mandarin. I have recently completed the Internatinonal Baccalaureate Diploma with the following scores:
Higher Level: Maths, 7, Economics, 7, Physics, 6
Standard Level: Chemistry, 7, English, 6, French, 6.
+3 Additional Points for A in Economics Extended Essay and B in Theory of Knowledge.
Giving a total of 42 points (Equivalent to 698 UCAS Points - or 5 A's at A Level).
Teaching Experience:
I developed my teaching skills during my time in Shanghai by volunteering to teach English to native children with no background in English. I have also tutored IB Maths to students in my old school, a course which is very close to the A Level.
Tutoring Approach:
Obviously each student has different needs, although largely I try to spot the areas which a student is uncomfortable/not confident in and thoroughly go over them slower than their teachers in class who simply do not have to time to be so thorough.
