Personal Description:

I can tutor Mandarin and Cantonese and junior piano-playing for both adults and kids. I am a Chinese and located in Liverpool. I am currently working full-time as a sound-designer and game developer at Toxteth. Before I've been studied music at University of York in UK. I am looking for part-time teaching opportunity in Liverpool.

Teaching Experience:

I have over four years of teaching Mandarin and Cantonese as a foreign language. My previous student comes from Australia, Germany and Britain. They all get very good result and satisfied by my class. I am a native Mandarin speaker and I have spoken Cantonese for over 20 years in Zhuhai where I grew up, a city near Hongkong. From many years of teachingexperience, I formulated a lot of useful teaching methods and tips to help student learn.

I also have years of tutoring piano-playing experience. My previous student are from primary school and want to learn from a elementary level. I have studied piano for over 10 years and pass the 10th grade(the highest grade) piano-performance test in China and continue to study music and sound technology at Communication Univ of China and University of York. I have strong classical piano playing skills, classical and modern music theory, composition method and sound design.

Tutoring Approach:

Individual study plan. Student and me will work out together a study plan which would best fits student studying situation. we will work out the near study target and the long one, time of learning and tutoring, teaching materials to use, etc. All is planned out according to students' situation to ensure the study flexibility and plausibility.

Clever study and learning method. Not only knowledge itself will be taught, the method of learning will be seriously taught and practised. For example, I will teach student how to remember a word in best way, how to use card, how to avoid forgetting.

Patient and friendly. I am a teacher with great patience to my student. Student would find me really easy-going and to talk to. I treat my student as a student as well as a friend.

Qualifications:

• Native Mandarin and Cantonese speaker
• 10th grade piano performance certificate from Chinese musician's society
• BSc in Sound Art and MA in music technolgy
