Sam - Bristol tutor
Information About Sam:
Personal Description:
UPDATE: I have now tutored 5 people and all have been very impressed and got good results! I have tutored 2 girls, 1 of which was a recommendation by the parents of the other, and 3 boys, as well as family members (brothers and cousins). The first I taught was A Level Maths and the second was GCSE, and they both felt they did ALOT better thanks to my input. They understood the way I explained things much better than their teachers and we created notes from past papers etc that they could use as a revision tool before exams and between tutor sessions.
My name is Sam and I currently work as a designer/engineer in the renewables industry. I graduated from a degree in Civil Engineering meaning I am extremely good with Maths and Physics especially. I am 28 years of age and young at heart which I believe means I can relate to the children much better and teach them in a way they can understand, as well as making it enjoyable. I believe this keeps the children interested rather than it seeming like a chore. I don't take myself too seriously and feel I would become more like a friend to the child that they can ask anything and know they will not be made to feel stupid or undermined. I am a very polite and well spoken person who tends to get on with everyone and I really enjoy teaching. I have three younger brothers and am also the oldest of my many cousins, meaning I have alot of experience in dealing with children with a more friendly, relaxed approach. I am also keen to make a difference in their lives and therefore will be taking the work very seriously, making sure you and your children get the results they deserve. I am very good at verbally explaining difficult problems and I feel I have an advantage over other more professional tutors as I will be able to relate to the children better and make learning fun, which I believe it should be.
Teaching Experience:
Tutored boys and girls both A Level and GCSE Mathematics with good results.
Tutoring Approach:
As stated above, as a younger but very qualified tutor, I feel I would be able to relate and get on better with children and I believe this would make the teaching much more easier and relaxed, if the child knows they can ask me absolutely anything without feeling stupid or undermined, as I know how that can feel especially in a room full of other students, hence the need for tutoring and hence why I think I would be perfect for the job.
I like to use past papers and would request that they have past papers for the relevant exam board, although I can obtain these if your child doesn't have any.
I really look forward to hearing from you, as I would really like to pass on my skills to future generations and really make a difference to their lives in the long term. Thank you,
Sam
