Information About Rachael:

Personal Description:

am a 31 year old primary teacher who has lived in Birmingham for 13 years after moving here for university. I am hard working, patient, have a good sense of humour and enjoy the job that I do. I like running and keeping fit. I enjoy reading and I feel I can transfer that love of reading to the children that I teach.

Teaching Experience:

I am a teacher in an inner city primary school who is very enthusiastic and eager to work with children either on a one to one basis or in small groups as this is the aspect of teaching I enjoy immensely. I have been teaching for nearly ten years and have experience in both Key Stage 1 and 2. I specialise in literacy and in both schools I have been accountable for standards in this subject in both schools that I have worked in. I have an interest in special educational needs and have been the Inclusion manager at my current school for a number of years. I have tutored a number of children and can apply all I know from working in a primary school when I tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

My hard working and extremely concientious nature makes me a good teacher and I find children relate to me extremely well. Being a current teacher means that I have access to a range of current resources and am very aware of the way children are currently being taught in school and can plan my tutoring sessions accordingly. I do try and make all my lessons fun so that the children want to learn because without that motivation it is extremely difficult to encourage the children to learn to the best of their ability.
