Personal Description:
Hello! I'm currently teaching science in a Kirklees High School and enjoying my career. Science can be fun and interesting.just some pupils have switched off with certain aspects that must be learnt to pass the GCSE's or with teachers that haven't fully engaged them. My aim is to reinvigorate your child back into science or at least assist them to achieve their targets and beyond!
Teaching Experience:
Just finishing my 6th year of qualified Science teaching at KS3 and KS4 level. Currently I'm leading the implementation of new schemes of work in KS3 including the new assessment criteria (APP) which is to replace SATS. Having worked in a small department I have been responsible for physics and chemistry schemes of work both at KS3 and KS4. I teach all Science at KS3 and KS4.
Tutoring Approach:
Totally dependent upon what outcome the pupil and the parents would like. Sessions can range from just the question WHY? And from there we can work out the answer. I can help the pupil develop investigative skills and analysis from doing fun kitchen Science, we can look at specific areas in the curriculum and improve subject knowledge. I can also help with revision and exam technique. Each pupil would have an individual programme based around what is required.
