Personal Description:

I am a 30 year old fully registered male teacher. I am currently a Primary 4 teacher in Glengowan Primary, Larkhall, South Lanarkshire. I am a young, enthusiastic and motivated teacher willing to take on the role of tutoring primary school aged children. I enjoy participating in and viewing a wide range of sports and like reading, listening to music and keeping fit in my spare time.

Teaching Experience:

I qualified from university as a registered and Disclosure checked teacher in June 2008. Prior to my permanent teaching appointment I completed my probation year in Mount Cameron Primary, East Kilbride. I was responsible for the planning and organisation of a coherent, progressive and active curriculum programme for a Primary 6 class. Between August 2009 and June 2010 I worked between Spittal and Bankhead primaries in Rutherglen. At Spittal Primary I was responsible for teaching PE, drama, RME and art to every stage in the school. At Bankhead Primary I taught Primary 6. I covered a maternity leave vacancy in Larkhall for 9 months between November 2010 and June 2011 before being offered a permanent contract in the same school. I also have general teaching experience across all stages of primary education due to covering classes throughout the year. Prior to qualifying from University, I worked as a support assistant between two schools in Cambuslang. This allowed me to gain valuable knowledge of working with children who required additional support on a one to one basis and group setting. I have experience of addressing individual pupil needs and throughout my short teaching career, have been able to implement strategies to assist each pupil in my care.

Tutoring Approach:

I am willing to provide children extra support in areas of the primary curriculum. I am able to provide appropriate resources and learning strategies to meet the needs of a child's learning. I am prepared to travel to provide this support in a fun, enthusiastic and motivating manner.

• Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary) with Merit
