Information About Olivia:


Personal Description:

I am a 20 year old student at the University of Nottingham studying a BA in English and American Studies. My particular passions lie within the field of literature and writing (one of my hobbies). I am currently embarking on a creative writing course and so constantly learning new writing techniques. I feel that my position as a student gives me a great advantage in communicating with my pupils and allows me to have a young, vibrant and up-to-date view on teaching. It also means I am able to relate to exam pressure and help the pupils prepare adequately for these.



Teaching Experience:

I have worked with children in many of my jobs. Most importantly I was a Nursery and Kindergarten Classroom Assistant which enabled me to teach children in a wide number of disciplines. As well as this I have gained a TEFL qualification and taught English abroad. I have also held nannying positions in the past few years. I have also helped children in the younger age categories with learning difficulties.



Tutoring Approach:

I believe that an important part of tutoring is held with the tutor to inspire their pupils and draw out their ability to learn and succeed. I believe a passionate approach to the subject that is both enjoyable but structured is the key to success. Setting work around the subject is important and appropriate work will be given.
