Personal Description:

I am a dedicated and experienced Mathematics teacher. I have helped students to meet and exceed their targets especially at GCSE Maths and AS level. I am also an experienced GCSE Maths examiner for one of the largest national examining bodies. This has made me familiar with the requirements for national examinations for Mathematics at secondary school level.

My qualifications include Bachelors of Education with honors degree (Mathematics and Economics), Bachelors of Philosophy in Education (University of Warwick), Masters in Education (UH). I also have UK QTS and registered with GTC.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Maths at secondary school level for over ten years. I have taught in different types of schools including large state maintained schools and leading independent international schools that follow the British National Curriculum. I have taught students of various abilities and backgrounds.

My achievements include successful preparation of candidates for national examinations. Students that I have tutored have met or exceeded their targets.

Tutoring Approach:

First lesson with me is free! The first lesson is useful in identifying my students' areas of strengths, learning styles and what areas support is needed in. The students get a taste of my teaching style and we agree on the format of subsequent lessons.
I teach for understanding, through activities and questions that promote thinking. I promote a cooperative approach in which students feel confident to express their ideas and to ask for clarification. I use a variety of learning aids and teaching resources. I also provide resources for students to consolidate learning at home.
