Shiraz - Batley tutor
Information About Shiraz:
Personal Description:
After I graduated from the Sheffield Hallam University in 2002 with LLB (Hons) Law I wanted to embark on a career that was going to provide me with the power and influence I yearned for, as a result, I joined a Restaurant as a Front-House Manager. However, I soon realised that the satisfaction and motivation I was seeking lay elsewhere.
In 2004, I moved on from the catering sector needing more contact with people and an opportunity to aid individuals in fulfilling their potential. Hence, I began teaching English for foreign students, Law at A level and Biology, Chemistry, English and History to GSCE students. I was inspired to teach by my own experiences at school.
Teaching Experience:
In 2004 I began teaching English to foreign students; Law to A level students; and Biology, Chemistry and History to GSCE students. I have found that conveying my own enthusiasm for the subject helped the students develop more confidence and a better understanding of it.
My ability to articulate concepts have proven to be key in helping students understand complex ideas and improve their grades. I am able to break down these ideas so the students can thoroughly understand and then apply to exam questions. The key to a successful grade is ample experience and understanding of past papers. I train and motivate students so they become very confident in completing past papers.
Tutoring Approach:
In my own experience I have found that conveying my own enthusiasm for the subject helped the students develop more confidence and a better understanding of it. I sought especially to find new ways of presenting ideas, to ensure that my class gained as much as they could.
My enthusiasm to work as a teacher stems from my desire to inspire and motivate others. I am extremely keen about making a positive difference to the lives of young people. I want to support them in establishing themselves and look forward to engaging with them and helping them achieve their goal.
I hope to captivate my students with my subjects and evoke a need or a desire within my students to partake in a future involving a life of learning and quests for information, truths, and facts. Throughout my time with them, I hope to expose them to an intriguing world of biology, chemistry and history, which I believe offers them one of many ways to look at the world. Additionally, I would like to be a role model to students by demonstrating the attributes of a good citizen, who embraces a devotion to his/her community, profession, family, and self.
As William Arthur Ward said "The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." I always aim to be the latter!
