Information About Jane:
Personal Description:
I have a BA (Hons) in Archaeology and Ancient History, an MA in Ancient History and an MSc in Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology. I am currently undertaking a PhD in Classics, specialising in Ancient Medicine, and my goal is to work as a lecturer in Classics, Ancient History or Archaeology. I have worked as an archaeologist thoroughout Britain and Europe, on sites varying from early Christian cemeteries to First World War trenches.
Teaching Experience:
I am currently employed as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Classics at Nottingham University, teaching undergraduates.
I have also volunteered as a Literacy Assistant in a number of high schools, teaching students ranging in age from 11 to 16.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to build up a rapport with my students. I encourage them to prepare in advance so that our sessions can be as productive as possible. I encourage them to think outside the box and look beyond what I give them. I offer modern parallels to the ancient subjects I cover.
