Information About Alison:

Personal Description:

I am a university graduate with a 2.1 MA Hons from Glasgow University in History and Theatre Studies. I also studied English Literature. I have taken a number of creative writing courses both as a student and adult and run a creative writing group. I also run a book group. I am friendly, outgoing and creative.

Teaching Experience:

I have previous work experience at a junior school teaching basic English and maths as a teaching assistant. I also have experience running a writing group, assessing work and giving constructive feedback. I also have experience in tutoring friends and family.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is open and friendly, I attempt to make the tutee as comfortable as possible by going at their own pace and tailoring my course to suit their own personal needs. I am creative with my exercises and make the learning process as fun and unique as possible. Tailoring my style to each individual student. I am however also highly organised and deadline orientated and beneath the attempts to make learning fun is an emphasis on the knowledge itself.

Qualifications:

• 2.1 MA HONS DEGREE FROM GLASGOW UNI IN HISTORY AND THEATRE STUDIES, WITH COURSES IN ENGLISH LIT.
• A LEVELS IN HISTORY, THEATRE STUDIES AND ENGLISH LIT
• GCSE'S IN ENGLISH LIT AND LANG, MATHS, SCIENCE, FRENCH, R.E, FOOD TCHNOLOGY, LATIN, HISTORY, DRAMA
• ADULT COURSES IN CREATIVE WRITING
