Personal Description:

I am a very enthusiastic, smart, dynamic and young tutor who is a great believer in second (and third- or fourth) chances for everyone. I love travelling, also photography- combining the two when I can- so I enjoy the busy school holidays; I like local art, specifically that by the Pre-Raphaelites, and take some convincing over the effectiveness of Damien Hirst as an artist!

Teaching Experience:

I am currently employed by Birmingham City Council as a member of their Adult Education team; I have also enjoyed teaching, covering and exam invigilating at two of the city's grammar schools. I have successfully completed OfSTED inspections three occasions running. I have worked as a home-based tutor in the North Solihull area for the last 15 years. My CRB Enhanced Declarartion and also my Council ID Card are available should prospective parents and tutees wish to see them.

Tutoring Approach:

I am innovative in my work, thinking on my feet and apply all topics discussed in sessions to the students' current curriculum level: I am trained as a teacher and as such am familiar with both primary, secondary and adult curricula. I believe in helping every student when their teacher hasn't got the time; no question is a silly one and you can ask me anything to do with the subject. I provide all my own materials and resources. I am committed to students' positive educational experience and try to stress the relevance of each topic we look at with every learner.
