Personal Description:
I have been working in different schools around Amersham for the past 6 years. After helping out in primary school and finishing my maths degree with the Open University, I got a job as a Teaching Assistant. After two years, in 2006, I started my flexible PGCE in mathematics at Brunel University. My placements included two grammar schools and am upper school in Slough. After completing my teaching qualification, I worked in two schools as a secondary mathematics teacher. At the moment, I am at home with my young child.
Teaching Experience:
I have a wide range of teaching experience, ranging from one-to-one private tuition in my home, giving booster lessons to small groups of year 6 students and teaching and managing whole classes.
Tutoring Approach:
I prepare lessons on an individual basis, taking into account what teaching styles suit my clients. For younger pupils I include more "fun" activities, for older children I start my teaching with a quick assessment to have an idea what topic(s) or areas or mathematics they need to concentrate on.
